The River of Life Leadership

The River of Life is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Pastor Antoine Newsome

Senior Pastor

Pastor Antoine T. Newsome found and married his rib, and wife of six years, Aisha M. Newsome. Antoine is a proud father of four beautiful children – Toray, Destiny, Alayna and Ayden Newsome. He was born and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia. Antoine graduated from Indian River High School, and continued his education at Stratford University. Antoine has strong roots in the Hampton Roads community, hailing as a entrepreneur and business owner for over eighteen years, and a youth football coach for twenty years – most recently as Head Coach for Hugo Owens Middle, for the last four seasons.

Son to the late Pastor Keith D. Newsome and the late Evangelist Almetra Y. Newsome, Antoine began his journey in ministry at a very young age. He started out as drummer for the music ministry – a passion he carries with him until this day. As a teenager, Antoine became the Minister of Music and held that title when his parents birthed New Life Apostolic Church, right here on 730 Finck Lane. Antoine was eventually called to preach the gospel, and was ordained by his father, Pastor Keith D. Newsome, at the age of 22.

During this journey, at the age 16, Antoine became barber to Bishop Kim Brown, and keyboardist for Mount Lebanon Missionary Baptist Vacation Bible School. The relationship between Bishop Brown and Antoine continued throughout the years and eventually led to Antoine becoming a member of The Mount in 2007, where he served on the Security Ministry for three years. Antoine is now Senior Pastor at the River of Life Church (New Life Apostolic), preaching God's word in the same house that his parents did not very long ago.

Pastor Antoine believes that God gave him gifts as a natural leader and “people person” to use in the Kingdom. He feels called to bring lost sheep back into the Kingdom of God. To help a “now” generation see how scripture is related to their life today; and how it can lead them to salvation, and their place in Heaven.
